January is already over, and the mobile industry is looking forward to this year’s Mobile World Congress, which is now less than a month away. Behind the scenes, operators and vendors alike are putting the finishing touches to their media announcements, making sure that the stand graphics are ready and that their demos work properly, and trying to fit more meetings into an already-packed schedule. All this while trying to forget about the negative aspects — unbelievably long queues for taxis and overcrowded trains, the tiresome walks between busy halls, and the interminable background noise when you’re trying to concentrate on that important customer meeting.
Everyone seems agreed that NFV and SDN, 5G and the IoT will be the defining themes of this year’s Show. These emerging technologies promise seamless, always-on connectivity at blistering speeds, a smart fully-connected world, and infinitely scalable and reconfigurable networks. Here at CellMining our focus is on making sure that all this technology works for the subscriber, and on empowering MNOs to understand, measure and improve their subscribers’ experience and thus retain customer loyalty. We do this with our unique CX-driven SON platform, SONATA, which analyzes the subscriber network experience by identifying and utilizing usage patterns to optimize network performance, based on CEM metrics.
To best profit from their future networks, operators need to manage smooth connections, handover, and offloading, based around tiered levels of service quality that are mapped to subscriber types and profiles. Service-level guarantees are already being offered by many advanced networks, and these will be a key capability of future 5G offerings. To manage and optimize these robust network environments, the subscriber needs to be placed at the center of the calculations and decisions that affect the service and quality.
CellMining is dedicated to helping operators achieve this goal, and we’ll be at MWC to tell you more about it. Despite all the hassle surrounding the Show, we’re not going to be put off by the crowds, and we hope that you won’t be either. We are looking forward to catching up with some old friends there, and hopefully also meeting some new ones. We wouldn’t miss it for the world — MWC here we come!
